Tower Dungeon, Vol. 1 ★★★☆☆

When the Dragon Tower descends, doom follows.

A friend picked this up and I ended up reading through it while hanging out with them over coffee. I quite like the art and the very Dark Souls mix of low fantasy and monstrous body horror is great, but I am not fond of the video-gamey dungeon crawling setup (it took me a while to warm up to Dungeon Meshi) and things like the protagonist casually shouldering boulders and the mage’s dress flying up to show off her body when she makes a fire blast, as well as that I think that she is being positioned as a tsundere love interest, makes me think the aspects that I enjoyed are not going to be the ones that remain prominent going forward and I am happy to leave it having read the first two chapters.
