deers

A comic. A deer stands in a doorway: “Don’t be mad, but I turned into a deer again.” A woman sitting in a bed responds: “You’re joking.”

The deer and the woman lie in bed together. “You don’t look like a deer to me.” “How can you even say that.”

The woman falls asleep, the deer gets up and stairs out the window.

The deer calls in sick to work. “Hi, sorry. I’m not really… uh… feeling myself. Can somebody cover my shifts this week?”

Being a deer. It’s hard to leave the house. I haven’t been outside in days. I don’t know what to eat. I’m worried there’s something wrong with me.

The woman wakes the deer opening the curtains and letting the sun in. She says “Oh, my dear.” The deer laughs and the woman rolls her eyes and pets the deer.

The woman and the deer walk to a friend’s house.

There’s a party.

“All my friends are there. It’s nice.”

The deer stairs at itself in the bathroom mirror, gazing into its own eye.
