Exodus ★★☆☆☆

You can betray someone with a word or an action. You can betray them with silence or inaction too. And in betraying that one person, you can betray a whole world.

I am glad to see a children’s book this angry about climate change and the violence of border maintenance, though the prose feels very simple and bare bones even for something aimed at a young audience and its post-apocalypse jerks very suddenly as the book goes on from ecological parable, to Mad Max to young adult dystopia without having much depth in any part.
